Letter To Yemi Alade From Johnny.

Dear Yemi,
This is a very informal letter so I will not use the conventional how you dey and family. I kept seeing a tweet on my twitter page from thebeatfm “#np johnny-yemi alade”, was very glad in my heart you sang a love song about me… took the liberty to download it and errr didn’t like what I heard.
You see my reasons for this reachout are countless but I’ld like to highlight a few…
First of all I never left you for any Cynthia, you see Cynthia my very good friend was going to buy recharge card and I said I should tag along because   she will buy my own ehh… that’s also what I meant “you no do me like how Cynthia dey do”…treatment wise. Well, after we bought the card I called my partners and I had to fly the next minute to France. Sorry I didn’t tell you that.
Of course you know Uche is tripping for fine boy johnny so she made up the story of having my baby to pursue you out of my life.
And you are exaggerating about the nene part! I said I want “marie nene”… it’s a Ghanaian biscuit …oh well let’s blame it on ignorance.
So there we have it I explained…ehen I never left you because of all these lies… It was trust issues, you never believed a john before. If you’re still looking for me, I’m somewhere in Europe, can’t disclose my whereabouts on a piece of paper… call my bro in lagos he will give you my number.
And yes I do drink palmwine with Patience, Bello and jonah the monarch ;). Take care of yourself
                            Yours ghen ghen,

Skales Finally Leaves EME For Dem Mama Records, Moves In With Timaya

Following his walk from Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment, rapper/singer Skales may be pitching his tent with Timaya’s Dem Mama Records. An inside source, who insisted it’s not official yet, toldthat there are strong indications that Timaya and Skales are going to be in business soon, adding that the former EME boy has already moved into Timaya’s home.“He may be signing with Dem Mama Records soon, he has moved in with him,” the reliable source told us.Skales’ 3-year contract with EME ended in January 2014 but made news a few days ago. Reports say EME didn’t renew the singer’s deal because he wasn’t making money for the label having spent so much money on him, plus he was signed as a rapper but he insistently switched to being a singer, apparently pushed by the success of his label mate Wizkid.

Is Skales Leaving EME?

Details are still sketchy, but sources claim rapper/singer Skales may have parted ways with Banky W-led Empire Mates Entertainment.Source close to the label reports that Skales is still with the label but EME has issues with him, which may eventually lead to the two parties breaking their business ties. The nature of the issue is however yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, Skales has removed EME from his Twitter bio and unfollowed ‘EmpireMates Ent fans’ account on the micro-blogging site, which is an obvious confirmation that he’s on his way out of the label or has already moved on.No words from Skales as at press time despite effort to have him react to the ‘issue’ with EME. It would be recalled that Wizkid also controversially left the label due to disagreement over money sharing, according to multiple reports. Wizzy has since been back on EME imprint after the two parties renegotiated terms. He also runs his own label Starboy Entertainment on the side.

Awards In Nigeria : The Headies.

Awards in Nigeria go back as far as……., and have advanced to this present age, some that started back then are no longer in existence, some are still strong, maybe, while some are new to the game of awarding. But that’s not where I’m heading to, I want to share my own view about our Nigerian awards, so today I will be focusing on one of the popular and notable award body, ‘The Headies’, formerly known as the hiphop world awards and nicknamed Nigeria’s Grammys. No doubt ‘The Headies’ is one of biggest awards right now in Nigeria, the headies stage has played host to several international acts and that has been great, but my major focus and concern is the standard, can the headies measure up to the standard of certain international awards? I ask myself, as the years go by I would say honestly that I’m not pleased with what I see in the headies, I feel they are slacking and not putting in their best. If you doubt me, compare the headies of last four years to last year’s own, yes a lot of things have been changed, but that doesn’t still beat the fact that last year’s award ceremony was in my own words ‘wack’, yes I said it, it was wack. Okay let’s take a look at the nominations, it seemed like where amateurs where organising an award, the nomination was a shabby one, putting people where they weren’t supposed to be which was so unprofessional.
Secondly, the stage, yes, the stage, the stage was a big disappointment, what happened to the cliché stage setting, well if you didn’t see it, it was literally a runway for fashion shows very disappointing isn’t it?
Thirdly the performances during the award ceremony were wack, well let me blame it on the stage, which wasn’t spacious enough for the artistes to do their thing, and I can’t believe that those artistes rehearsed, no I don’t, it just seemed like they were called up that moment to perform, it wasn’t good at all.
Lastly the sound and video quality for those of us watching it live on tv was poor, it was so poor that I didn’t enjoy the show, call that salt added to an injury, upon the fact that the ceremony was so unprofessional they decided to top it up with bad transmission. So if I were to rate the award out of ten, I would give it three out of ten, so please feel free to drop your ratings, comments and opinions about the headies. That’s all I have to pour out, please I’m not slandering anyone, I’m just passing a message across to those who it may concern.
